What were you wearing 30 years ago? Maybe your style hasn't changed but the cost of clothing has.
What hasn't changed in 30 years is the amount that people get through the RI Works program. That means the same money for food, clothes, and living expenses. That's right, it's been 30 years and people are still living on 6 dollars a day. That is barely enough to survive.
Please join The RI Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty for our next Faith to Action event- A Community Conversation on the RI Works Program. We are partnering with the Rasing RI Coalition to bring faith leaders, advocates, and community residents together to learn about how we can help raise people out of deep poverty and provide crucial resources for people in need. The current pandemic has shown us that people struggling to meet basic needs need immediate and long term solutions that can only happen with policy and institutional change. Our faith is connected to a deep belief that all people should have adequate resources and not live in poverty. We hope you can join us for this important conversation.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
